Who Made God?

A lecture by

Professor Edgar Andrews
BSc, PhD, DSc, FInstP, FIM, CEng, C.Phys
Emeritus Professor of Materials Science, University of London.

Professor Andrews, who has in the past debated with

atheist Richard Dawkins and TV botanist David Bellamy,

explores the various answers that can be given to the

atheist’s favourite question:

‘If God made everything, who made God?’

He looks in turn at the following ideas:

that ‘we made God’ —
God is an invention of the human mind;

that God is highly improbable
and therefore probably doesn’t exist; and

that the question is unanswerable
(it isn’t, providing that ‘God’ is properly defined).

If God is properly defined, there are important personal
implications for every one of us.

Edgar Andrews is President of the Biblical Creation Society.
He is the author of a number of books, including From Nothing to Nature
and commentaries on Hebrews and Galatians.
His latest book Who Made God? is scheduled for publication in September.
