Voyage to the Planets: Solar System Discoveries by Paul Garner
In the last few decades, space
probes and robotic craft have sent back stunning
images of the planets, moons, rings, asteroids and comets that make This talk will take us on a breathtaking journey through our cosmic "backyard". From the barren cratered terrain of Mercury to the frozen wastes of Pluto, from the rocky inner planets to the gas giants of the outer solar system, we will take a look at the wonders revealed by modern space exploration. Along the way, we will be thinking about the origins of our solar system. Did it originate by natural processes operating over billions of years — or by special creation not so long ago? |
